To National Associations Representatives within ESA Council of NAs

Dear colleagues from the Executive Committee,

I hope this email finds you well. ESA has just received an invitation to participate in the pan-European hackathon organized by the EU Commissioner Mariya Gabriel. The deadline is today, but I think this could be of interest to NAs' members. Following, I explain the objective of the hackathon and then make 3 proposals:

Objective: The aim of this Hackathon is “to connect civil society, innovators, partners and investors across Europe in order to develop innovative solutions for coronavirus-related challenges”. I think it is relevant that NAs are involved in addressing Europe’s current challenges.

Proposals:

1. That NAs participate in the Hackathon team. This would require you to enroll first as partners and then sign-up to for the Hackathon team. (no cost related)
2. That NAs  communicate theirr participation as soon as possible to their members today (twitter, facebook). If the deadline for participation was extended to next Tuesday 21st (this might be possible),that NAs communicates the initiative, in order to extend the participation throughout the different modalities to all their members.
